Proverbs 26:3

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

Basic Horse Training

More and more we find that our equine companions often have problems, fears, and dsicomforts for riders even after they have been broken. Faced with this dilemma, horses are finding themselves abandoned in the pasture or just plain miserable to ride. What Jacklynn has come to realize and apply is the fact that horses are not just something you slap a saddle on. As quotated in the Idaho County Ruralite, "Trust and respect are key." They are not just key to being able to go on a ride, but in a deeper sense to develope a strong relationship between you and your horse. Jacklynn is often faced with more than the mere problem of creating a ridable horse. She finds that many of the horses have deep rooted fears, untrainable attitudes, and are just plain spoiled sour. It no longer is just a matter of training, but a matter of bridging the gap between horse and man. When it comes to Jacklynn working with the horses she spends her time administering to their needs and their personalities. She then applies the right amount of attention, discipline, persistence, and above all patience. As quoted by David Rauzi, front page reporter for Ruralite, "She takes horses- wild, spoiled or a mixture of both- through a gentle, but firm course that brings nature under control to the point where horses will take a saddle and bridle and attentively obey a rider's commands."  Each horse usually takes at least thirty hours in thirty days, but some go longer. Jacklynn is more than willing to go the extra mile to accomplish her task of completing its training.

In the end it boils down to the fact that horses deserve the opportunity to be happy. It's about helping your horse become all that it needs to be for itself and its rider. It's a process that takes a seemingly uncontrollable horse on a journey in which it finds itself content and fulfilled when obeying its master.

Equine Tricks

Some tricks of the trade. As Jacklynn has quoted, "There are two different types of horses. The workaholics and tricksters." At two of the Tim MacNamee clinics, onlookers watched in awe as Jacklynn had her horses enjoy themselves showing off their ability to bow, play dead, and sit just like man's best friend. Jacklynn has developed a fast and effective way to trick train a willing, playful horse. Not only is trick training eye candy for any viewers, but deepens the horse's trust with their owners and adds spice to their lives. She has found that horses that indulge in mischief or are easily bored with the day-to-day training, find themselves more alert and prone to work when they realize that not only is training all about work, but can be mixed with up with some playful tricks.
